About
Sun Catcher
Howie Michaelson
has been involved in Renewable Energy for many years, and has lived
off-grid with his family for a decade. He worked for a large, fast
growing Renewable Energy company for several years as a lead installer
and head of the service department. Howie has worked on, and is
well versed in, a wide range of residential and commercial solar
electric (both on and off-grid), solar hot water, wind and hydro
energy systems. As owner of Sun Catcher, he is happily running his
own company, focusing on residential, appropriately scaled solar
electric and hot water, as well as wind.
In previous
lives, Howie has managed a $10 million/year food cooperative, been
a counselor and director for many years at the Farm & Wilderness
summer camps in Vermont, managed and designed a variety of websites
for businesses and non-profits, and banged nails on carpentry crews.
He and his wife built their off-grid home on a land cooperative
in central Vermont, happy to be raising their 2 young children in
such a wonderful place.
