Howie Michaelson has been involved in Renewable Energy for many years, and has lived off-grid with his family for over two decades. He worked for a large, fast-growing renewable energy company for several years as a lead installer and head of the service department. He is an NABCEP-Certified Solar PV Installer™, and has over 17 years of experience professionally installing, troubleshooting, and servicing Grid-Tied PVOff-Grid PV, and Battery Backup Solar systems. Howie has worked on, and is well versed in, a wide range of residential and commercial solar electric (both on and off-grid), solar hot water, wind and hydro energy systems.

In previous lives, Howie has managed a $10 million/year food cooperative, been a counselor and director for many years at the Farm & Wilderness summer camps in Vermont, managed and designed a variety of websites for businesses and non-profits, and banged nails on carpentry crews. He and his wife built their off-grid home on a land cooperative in central Vermont, happy to be raising their 2 young children in such a wonderful place.
